- The theme for the 2018 event will be "What you can do."
- As in the past, there will be a town cleanup in the morning with a celebration with food, music and educational booths and displays in the afternoon.
- Booths and displays featuring volunteer opportunities, community groups and environmental organizations, and children's activities will be encouraged.
- There will be no speakers this year.
- The cleanup will be operated essentially the same as in past years: signup in the morning with maps showing cleanup locations, free raffle tickets, gloves, etc. provided to participants.
- Stamps will be used at cleanup registration and for access to the food, eliminating duplicate tickets.
- More attempts will be made to involve other groups on and off of campus with displays.
- If possible, the event will end earlier in the day.
- The raffle will be conducted as it was two years ago allowing tickets to be placed in jars for specific prizes.
- There will be music, possibly acoustic.
- The layout may be changed to bring displays closer to the food and entertainment.
- Terra Verde will explore involving UMW marketing;
- The event will be held Saturday, April 21st (the day before Earth Day) if this doesn't conflict with other events, especially UMW Alumni Day. Calendars will be checked before the next meeting at which we will attempt to finalize the date.
