The 2019 event organization meeting was held on October 23rd, 2018. The meeting focused on brainstorming ideas for the event as follows
Event:
- Continue the town cleanup and celebration
- Based on Easter and Earth Day actual dates we proposed April 27 for the cleanup / celebration
- See if the county would be willing to bring the big ewaste container down to Idaho St for easier access.
- Figure out how to incorporate Arica and the Environmental Studies class.
Food:
- A huge crowd is not likely so a smaller food venue will be better
- Option 1: Eric is trying to reach the woman who does the wood fired pizza and expressed interest last year.
- Option 2, a downtown caterer like the BBQ place.
- Option 3, UMW food service for drinks, as well as some kind of food and compostable single use cups/plates/cutlery. There’s a box from 2018 celebration in the Terra Verde room cupboard
Venue: Consider the Jaycee park as it may have toilets and sinks by April?
Other:
Leaf is stepping down from the
committee. She will participate with a Beaverhead Recycling display at
the event and can support with the Beaverhead Recycling Facebook page.
Next Meeting:
Based on the UMW block schedule we proposed Tues Nov 27 for the next meeting.
